Twinsburg Township resident Owen Michael Simpson, age 20, died Sunday June 25, 2017 at home after a nine month battle with Cancer.
Born on April 17, 1997 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, he was the beloved son to Jerry M. and Lisa A. (Hoiberg) Simpson and brother to his best friend Rachel.
Owen was a 2015 graduate of Twinsburg High School, where he excelled academically, played soccer and tennis and made many friends. He continued his education at the University of Toledo studying Civil Engineering prior to his cancer diagnosis in 2016.
Owen enjoyed soccer, snowboarding, skateboarding, gaming, aviation and especially spending time with his family and friends. Owen was a kind, thoughtful young man that made others want to be around him. He also had a quiet sense of humor that would make you smile.
He greatly appreciated the care and comfort provided by his doctors and nurses, and other family members and friends as his Cancer progressed. Owen's kind and calm demeanor made it easy for caregivers to like him and take care of him.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Thursday June 29 at the Blessing - Hine Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, OH 44087. A Celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Friday June 30 at 11AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations on behalf of Owen for lung cancer research can be made to the American Cancer Society. Donations on behalf of Owen can also be made to the Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles program which supports free flights for children to spur their interest in aviation.
