The Twinsburg Garden Club's annual fundraising plant sale is May 13 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, unless sold out earlier.
For the sixth consecutive year, the sale is at the Twinsburg Historical Society's Freeman Barn. The red barn, built in 1870, is on Darrow Road, just south of Twinsburg Township Square.
"This year is our 54th year of service to the community, and we are continuing to go all out for the sale," said plant sale chairperson Rose Skipper. "This year, we will have a beautiful array of unusual annuals, perennials, herb and vegetable plants and hanging baskets. Many of our members are Master Gardeners or just gardeners with many years of experience and will be on hand to offer free advice for gardeners".
Skipper says there will be a larger area of native Ohio plants, and arranged fresh flowers in vases are also planned. There will be a Mother's Day gift area. And back again for the second year will be popular handmade glass flower yard art.
Co-chair Virginia Schmidt says garden club members are digging up some of their best perennials, including hostas, flowering plants and ground cover for the sale. These potted and labeled plants will be reasonably priced.
If anyone in the community has plants they would like to donate, contact Schmidt at 216-310-7413, or Skipper at 330-571-3188.
All proceeds from plant sale benefit the Twinsburg Garden Club's scholarship fund and other local charities.
