Ohio Shakespeare Festival, known for its summer outdoor performances at Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, launched its first season inside with "Robin Hood: An Adventure With Music."
The show, which closed Oct. 30, was penned by OSF co-founder Terry Burgler and company member Scott Campbell. OSF also staged the musical for the first time during its summer season.
"Robin Hood" had the feel of one of the company's Greenshows (although with a plot), with light-hearted songs, sword fights, duels and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. It gave OSF a strong start to its first indoor season on the Henry C. Bishop stage, named for a late, longtime company member.
Ohio Shakespeare Festival will next stage "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged" Dec. 15 through 18.
In addition, the company will host a New Year's Eve Party at the theater, "Best of the Greenshow Show," which will include drinks, hors d'oeuvres, a champagne toast at midnight, and selections from previous Greenshows.
