TWINSBURG -- A new administrative position, charged with steering the Twinsburg City School District's classrooms in the 21st century, was recently created for the Twinsburg City Schools.
The Board of Education voted 4-0 June 28 to create a "supervisor of innovative programs," which will help "in the successful implementation of professional development for" the district's staff.
"It's a way to keep up with the ever-changing classroom," said Board of Education Vice President Matt Cellura July 6. "This position will allow us to keep the classroom learning experience the best we can offer."
Cellura said the the position should be filled before the new school year starts.
Belinda McKinney, district human resource director, said the job was posted internally, adding the district is leaning toward hiring someone who is already familiar with the district and its staff. The salary offered will depend on the new hire's experience, she added. District officials could not provide a salary range for this reason.
Whomever was hired into the position would report to the Jennifer Farthing, director of curriculum, according to the job description.
