Holy Week, Easter worship at Christ the King

Worship opportunities for Holy Week at Christ the King Lutheran Church begin with Palm Sunday weekend worship at 5:30 p.m. April 8 and at 8:30 and 11 a.m. April 9. Both Sunday services will begin with a procession with palms in keeping with Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. All three services will include a dramatic reading of Jesus' Passion from the Gospel of Luke.

Maundy Thursday, April 13, worship will include communion and First Holy Communion at 7 p.m. Good Friday, April 14, worship is a somber service that includes the Passion from the Gospel of John at 7 p.m. Easter vigil will be at 8 p.m. April 15. The vigil begins in the darkness and solemnity of Good Friday and progresses to a proclamation of Jesus' resurrection.

In addition, the Biblical Way of the Cross 2017 will be on Good Friday, April 14, from noon to 1 p.m. The community is invited to this journey on Twinsburg Township Square, presented by the Twinsburg Ministerial Association. These stations are based upon scriptural accounts of the Passion. In the event of inclement weather the service will be inside the First Congregational Church on the Square.

Easter Sunday worship services will be at 8:30 and 11 a.m. April 16. The 8:30 a.m. service is a contemporary service, and the 11 a.m. service is a traditional liturgical service. Christ the King is at 10285 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg. Call 330-425-7377 or visit www.ctktwinsburg.com for more information.
