Ss. Cosmas hosts annual clam bake
Ss. Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church's fifth-annual clam bake will be Oct. 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the church, 10419 Ravenna Road in Twinsburg.
Meal choice and ticket information are available by calling the parish office at 330-425-8141 through Oct. 10. Children's meals are available and there will be an apple pie baking contest. Tickets are available by pre-sale only.
Annual holiday craft fair set
Solon United Methodist Church's annual holiday craft fair will be Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 5540 SOM Center Road in Solon. Unique handmade crafts will include glass fusion, home decor, accessories, seasonal and gift items. Lunch concessions will be available, with four chances to win a gift card. Blessing of the pets is Oct. 2
A Blessing of the Pets will be Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Twinsburg, 10285 Ravenna Road. The service will be in the parking lot behind the building. The public is invited to bring leashed, haltered, caged or otherwise confined pets. During this brief service the Rev. Matthew Groenke, senior pastor, will bless animals in attendance and will individually bless all the animals whose humans lead them to him. This type of service is traditionally conducted around Oct. 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, who is remembered for his love of animals. Polka mass, dinner and dance
St. Rita Church, at 32820 Baldwin Road in Solon, will host a polka mass, dinner and dance Oct. 8 at 5 p.m., sponsored by the St. Rita empty nesters.
