Animal at large

Owner cited after child bitten: A Moorland Drive woman was cited for animal at large June 21 after her dog reportedly bit an 8-year-old neighbor. The boy was transported to the hospital. The woman, 31, entered a not guilty plea June 28 in the Stow Municipal Court.

Warrants

Traffic stop uncovers warrants: A Cleveland man, 32, and a Cleveland woman, 39, were both taken into custody June 22 after a Twinsburg officer stopped the vehicle the man was driving for a traffic violation. The officer reported seeing the vehicle the man was driving on Route 82 merge in front of him from the right lane without using a turn signal. The Cleveland man told the officer he had warrants from Parma for domestic violence and hit skip, and that he was under suspicion. The Parma Police Department declined to pick him up, so the man was taken to the Solon jail, where we was held for no turn signal and DUS on 10 percent of a $5,000 bond. The man's passenger also was found to be wanted on several warrants. She was transferred into the custody of the Rocky River Police Department on a failure to comply warrant.

Vandalism

Playground marked with graffiti: On June 25, someone called the police to report that someone vandalized a Darien Lane playground. It is unknown when the playground was vandalized and there is no estimate of damage. Someone scrawled vulgar language and pictures over the playground equipment with a black sharpie.

Assist

Twinsburg police asked for help in finding woman: On June 27, the Macedonia Police Department called Twinsburg police to help find a red Ford Escape going east on Highland Road from Macedonia to Kent. Someone had contacted the Macedonia police about her. The woman driving the vehicle was reportedly injured. Twinsburg officers found the vehicle on Interstate 480 east and confirmed the woman, from Dallas, Texas, had facial injuries. The woman told Twinsburg police she was jumped at an Akron bar. The Akron police were contacted and she was told to file a report with them when she was able to. The woman was taken to the Cleveland Clinic by the Twinsburg Fire Department and her vehicle impounded.

Drug possession

Man with no operator license pulled over: A Ray Court man, 24, was cited for driving without an operator license, lights and possession of drugs after a deputy pulled him over at Yale and Buchtel streets for not having the headlights turned on for the vehicle he was driving. The man told the deputy he was a new driver and didn't know how to turn them on. The deputy smelled marijuana, and the man admitted to smoking the drug. When the deputy said the vehicle would have to be searched, the man said "here, I'll just hand it to you" and gave the deputy a glass jar with marijuana inside. The man also was found to not have a valid driver's license. The vehicle was turned over to the owner.

Identity fraud

Account opened, more than $600 spent, in man's name: A Ridgetop Drive man said someone used his Social Security number to establish an account with Comcast in the Chicago area, and was used between January and March 2016. A total of $650.71 was charged to this account under his name. There are no suspects at this time.
